Grammable Grass

I set out to plant that Instagrammable pampas grass (Cortaderia selloana) against the big blank wall of our ranch walk out to add depth and texture to the back yard. I was hoping to get good height and plumes growing and maybe have the option to do our family photos at home this year. I first tried to grow from seed. That was a bust. I was disappointed but not shocked. The seed reviews on Amazon were marginal at best. Furthermore, that particular species may not have thrived in Omaha's 5B Zone. Lisa at Indian Creek Nursey on Saddle Creek also reminded me many of the photos online are edited. 

I ended up with two species planted and looking forward to seeing how they grow.
