Alberta Falls Hike

In the early months of the pandemic we were able to spend more time in our home away from home, Estes Park, Colorado. 

Visiting Estes was my husband’s first Colorado experience. He’d lived in Nebraska over 20 years and never made the 8 hour drive west. I took him to one of my favorite riverside cabins when we started dating and he quickly became an Estes evangelist. 

We now go as often as we can. With each trip we attempt more ambitious hikes than the ones before. On a recent hike to Alberta Falls, I stood on the rocks and wondered out loud why I ever left Colorado to move back to Nebraska. 

“You had to come get me,” he said.  ❤️
