Under Stand Rock

This summer we made a trip to the Wisconsin Dells to celebrate a milestone birthday with Chris’s dad. We had a great time with his brothers, sister, and their families. We covered the water parks, go karts, and mini golf pretty quickly and then escaped town to be in nature. The Wisconsin Dells area is known for impressive rock formations. This one is Stand Rock. There are thousands of photos on the Internet from the side profile view point. It’s a well-known rock, made famous by photographer, H.H. Bennett who set up the first live action shot of his son jumping across it in 1886. Now a German Shepherd has that job on the tour. As I walked away from Stand Rock this summer, I snapped a photo looking up Stand Rock and really liked this shot.
