Nick's New Hood

Nick arrived in the new neighborhood, inserted himself, and we have experienced a constant stream of kids running in and out out the house all year long. The basement is a total Nerf war zone, which I rarely visit for obvious reasons. He is thriving in his new school, advanced twice in swim class, plays on two basketball teams, completed a 30 vegetables in 30 days challenge, hosted a lemonade stand, and dressed up as Bob Ross for Halloween.

The Bob Ross thing surprised us. Nick loves painting with his mom. And to go with that flow, I introduced him to the Joy of Painting on Netflix. We watch it as a wind-down. He loves the show as much as Chris and I do. As we were scrolling through Pinterest, looking for Halloween costume ideas, he spotted someone dressed up as the painter and said "That's it. I'm being Bob Ross."

Chris put together his outfit with items from his closet. We had the pallet already. His mom painted happy little trees on a white pillow case for him to collect candy. I ordered his beard from Etsy and the wig from Amazon.
