Puttin' on the Spritz
Making spritz cookies has become our annual holiday tradition—right up there with untangling lights and questioning our life choices. Over the years, we’ve tried nearly every modern cookie press on the market, from big-box bargains to specialty-store splurges, all promising “effortless” perfection. What they delivered instead was a masterclass in frustration, dough blowouts, and cookies that absolutely refused to release.
This year, we chose nostalgia over innovation and went straight to the online resale marketplace in search of a vintage cookie press from the 1960s. Enter the humble, tin-can-looking relic—no bells, no whistles, just old fashioned mechanics producing perfect spritz cookies on the first squeeze.
Feeling as old as the cookie press, we've officially crossed into that phase of life where we mutter, “They don’t make ’em like they used to,” while holding a freshly baked spritz cookie and feeling deeply, inconveniently correct.
